Who are we?
LL Build BV, trading as Pleisterwerken Louwie, is the controller of the personal data described in this notice.
Address: Vaartdijk Zuid 62, 8433 Slijpe (Middelkerke), Belgium.
Email: info@louwie.be.
We process personal data in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and the Belgian Act of 30 July 2018 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data. This notice applies to our dealings with customers, prospective customers, suppliers, business contacts and website visitors.
What personal data do we process?
Depending on your dealings with us, we may process your name, company name, address, worksite address, email address, telephone number, company or VAT number, and invoicing and payment details. This may also include correspondence, requests for quotations, appointments and information needed to prepare, carry out and follow up on the works.
When you use the website, technical data may be processed, such as your IP address, browser type, pages visited and time of visit. An IP address and other online identifiers may constitute personal data; they are not automatically anonymous. We limit the data to what is necessary for the relevant purpose.
How do we collect your data?
We receive data when you contact us, request a quotation, place an order, pay an invoice or work with us, for example by email, telephone, a contact form or in person.
Where necessary for a project, we may also receive professional contact and project details from your representative, architect, construction partner or public business registers. Where data are obtained indirectly, we inform you as required by the GDPR, unless a statutory exception applies.
What are our legal bases for processing?
For a quotation you request and the performance of a contract with you, we rely on the necessity to take pre-contractual steps or perform the contract. For accounting, invoicing and other legal obligations, we rely on applicable legislation.
For contact with company representatives, the organisation of our activities, security and the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims, we may rely on legitimate interests. We balance these interests against your rights and freedoms. Where consent is required, we obtain it in advance. Merely visiting our website or providing data does not constitute general consent.
Services and communication
We use relevant data to answer enquiries, prepare quotations, plan and carry out works, communicate with you, issue invoices, follow up payments and deal with complaints or warranty enquiries.
You must provide data necessary for a quotation, an order or a legal obligation to enable the relevant service. Without these data, we may be unable to handle your enquiry or order. We indicate whether information is mandatory or optional.
Marketing and cookies
If we send newsletters or commercial emails, we do so with your prior consent, unless a statutory exception applies. Where we rely on a legitimate interest, that interest consists of maintaining relevant customer relationships and offering our own services, after balancing your rights.
You may unsubscribe free of charge at any time using the unsubscribe option in the message or by emailing info@louwie.be. Following an objection, we will no longer use your data for direct marketing, including related profiling.
Where the website uses cookies or similar technologies, their use is explained in the associated cookie information. Cookies that are not strictly necessary are placed only with consent where required by law. You must be able to change your choice and withdraw consent.
Who may receive your data?
We share only necessary data with recipients involved in our services or business operations. These may include IT and hosting providers, accountants, payment service providers, subcontractors, suppliers, insurers and professional advisers, insofar as their involvement requires it.
Service providers processing data on our behalf are bound by a data processing agreement. Other recipients may act as independent controllers and must meet their own legal obligations. We do not sell or rent your personal data.
We may disclose data to competent authorities where required by law, or where necessary and lawful to protect our rights. In the event of a business transfer or reorganisation, necessary data may be transferred with appropriate safeguards and information for the individuals concerned.
Transfers outside the European Economic Area
If personal data are processed outside the European Economic Area or accessed from there, this takes place only on a valid transfer basis, such as an adequacy decision or appropriate safeguards including the applicable European Commission standard contractual clauses. Additional protective measures are taken where necessary.
You may contact info@louwie.be for information on applicable safeguards and how to obtain a copy.
How long do we retain your data?
We retain personal data no longer than necessary. Enquiry and quotation data are retained for handling and reasonable follow-up. Contract and worksite data are retained during performance and afterwards insofar as necessary for aftercare, warranties, liability or potential disputes, taking account of applicable limitation periods.
Accounting and tax records are retained for the period required by law. Marketing data are used until you withdraw consent or object, unless they are no longer needed earlier. A minimal record of your opt-out may be retained to respect your choice. Technical data are retained as necessary for security, troubleshooting or the permitted analytical purpose. Data are then deleted or genuinely anonymised.
How do we protect your data?
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, alteration or unlawful use. These measures are tailored to the nature of the data and the risks of processing. Access is limited to individuals who need the data for their duties. No system can guarantee absolute security.
What rights do you have?
Subject to the conditions of the GDPR, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure and restriction of processing. Where applicable, you may receive your data in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and transmit them to another controller.
You may object to processing based on legitimate interests on grounds relating to your particular situation. You may always object to direct marketing. You may withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
To exercise your rights, email info@louwie.be or write to our address. We normally respond within one month. If necessary, this period may be extended by up to two further months due to the complexity or number of requests; we will inform you within the first month. Where we have reasonable doubts, we may request necessary additional information to verify your identity. Requests are generally free of charge, subject to statutory exceptions.
Complaints and changes
You may lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority via www.gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit.be. You may also contact the competent supervisory authority of your habitual residence, place of work or the place of the alleged infringement.
We may update this notice when our operations or the rules change. The current version will be available on our website. Where appropriate, we will provide additional information about significant changes. An update does not replace consent where consent is required by law.
